Our Valentine Playmate wasn’t an amateur model who walked ambitiously into Playboy’s Chicago headquarters with her portfolio in hand—on the contrary, she was hiding in plain sight. Working as a Theater Bunny at our Playboy Club in Chicago, ticket-taker Kim Farber was idly doing her job when a Playboy staffer couldn’t understand why the prime attraction was the first line of defense at the Club and not on the screen. “I love going to plays,” she says when asked why she chose to be a Theater Bunny. “In my spare time, I love to get lost in a good novel, watch underground movies, and go to coffee shops. I like to do things on the spur of the moment.” With her toe dipped into the Playboy pond, the classic beauty with the short, chestnut-brown hair wasn’t too surprised when she was asked to test for Playmate, but what she didn’t expect was to win Miss February 1967. “Of course, I'd always wanted to be a Playmate, but once I got settled in my Theater Bunny routine, I never thought I'd get closer,” she admits. “This is amazing, though.” When the all-natural model isn’t listening to jazz or reading her weight in books, our busty Miss February 1967 loves to ice-skate and play tennis, but her real passion is traveling. “Before I commit myself to a career, I want to get some traveling out of my system, and working at Playboy gives me the means to travel—so you see, I may be trying to do everything, but I'm trying to do everything in the right order,” says Kim who will soon be leaving for Europe and the Middle East before working as a Bunny at the London Playboy Club. “Eventually I'd like to settle down. I'm very restless, and I need to travel all over to work it out, but I do love my hometown as well. Chicago's right in the center of things—just take a look at the map.” With her bags packed and her list of must-see London attractions written down, the bubbly brunette cannot wait to experience the music and fashion scene firsthand and she hopes to utilize what she’s learned when she’s back stateside. “I really hope to get an apprenticeship in fashion design,” she says. “If I had my way, I'd drape the whole world in bright orange.” See the world through Kim Farber’s orange-colored glasses, right here on Playboy.
