At first glance, Tiffany Sloan is a bundle of contradictions. “If you like surprises, I’m your girl,” says Tiffany, smiling through her voluminous blonde curls. Raised in Bullhead City, Arizona, Tiffany was something of a tomboy – forbidden by her parents to play in the desert because of snakes and scorpions, she resorted to playing tackle football with the boys. Emboldened, she tried out for the junior varsity team, but the school board refused to let her play. “I had breasts by then, so the boys wanted me in the locker room,” she says. Tiffany’s father worked in the casino business, and in her teens, the family moved to Las Vegas. After stints in construction – “Not the best work for a girl, too many pervs,” acknowledges Tiffany – she started dancing in a revue at Sands, bringing her to the attention of Playboy’s photographers. Jackpot: Tiffany became our Miss October 1992. “It’s kind of embarrassing posing nude,” she says. “I’m too embarrassed to wear lingerie for my boyfriend, but posing for these pictures, I wasn’t shy anymore.” Among her myriad ambitions, Tiffany’s greatest is to study criminal justice and eventually, to become a police officer. Two things she’ll need to overcome on her path to the precinct: her pacifism and habit of speeding on the freeway. “I’ll go even faster when I’m a cop,” she says with a grin. “I want to study law, continue modeling and stay happy.”
